Hot on the heals of the newly announced Nintendo Direct for North America both the Wii U and 3DS receive system updates. First up we start with the Wii U which received a 593 MB system update (V 2.1.0) which is said to increase the overall system stability as well as improving the Wii U experience. We have updated to the latest Wii U firmware and it does in fact appear to be running better. System load times appear to be gradually better then before. Next up the 3DS received a quick firmware update to version 4.5.0-10U. The update is said to “Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience.” What is interesting about this is the fact that both the Wii U and 3DS are receiving these updates the night before Nintendo goes live with their latest Nintendo Direct. While we are not sure if this is just coincidence or if there is some connection, we’re sure to find out more tomorrow.
