Yohei Shimbori, director of Ninja Gaiden 3, admits that him and his team were completely shocked when fans fans reacted the way they did to Ninja Gaiden 3. The game released earlier this year on PS3 and Xbox 360. Fans and critics alike were highly disappointed with Team Ninja’s new direction with the series.
“Everybody at the studio was pretty shocked. It really made us take another look at the game and why that reaction was there.”
“There are existing fans out there, and you have to think about the people who have supported the series for so long, and you want to make sure that the game that you make appeals to them first, and satisfies those fans first.”
Ninja Gaiden 3 is set to release on Wii U within it’s launch window and has been reworked to appeal to those fans who were disappointed with the previous iteration.
