After facing higher then anticipated demand, US retailer GameStop has officially stopped taking pre orders for the Wii U. UK retailers Argo and GAME are still advertising Wii U in stock and are still taking pre orders on the system. Nintendo has managed to give off the impression that the Wii U is already in high demand but the real truth to that will come out when the system launches. Nintendo needs to maintain a steady stream of consoles on retail shelves but also give off the impression that the system sells fast without depriving the buyer of a chance to own one. If Nintendo cannot maintain an adequate supply of Wii U’s then potential buyers may be swayed into buying a competing console. Lets hope that production is well underway for the holiday season.
