Nintendo will have 50 games available within the Wii U’s launch window, which runs from November 18 (North America) to the end of March. In this time frame none of the announced games will take advantage of the Wii U’s NFC technology which is built into the Wii U’s Gamepad. This is surprising with Skylanders: Giants coming from EA and after seeing the leaked concept video for Ubisoft’s Rayman: Legends. Nintendo’s Bill Trinen believes we’ll start seeing games utilizing this new tech in future releases.
“That is a new tech, particularly with it being available in the U.S. A lot of the developers are wondering what are the options? How do we leverage it? As they start to come with their ideas, solutions and great content, we will talk more about it.”
“I don’t anticipate it will be too far out.”
